USD 261 Summer Learning Programs

Haysville USD 261 is excited to offer a variety of summer learning opportunities designed to keep students engaged, supported, and growing throughout the summer months.

Summer Exploration and Enrichment (K-8)

Students entering grades K-8 can participate in the Summer Exploration and Enrichment Program from June 1–25 at Rex Elementary. The program runs Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with optional breakfast and lunch available for students. Pick-up and drop-off will be at Haysville Middle School.

Summer FUNdamental Reading Program (K-4)

The Summer FUNdamental Reading Program helps students strengthen literacy skills during the summer break. The program runs June 29–July 24 at Rex Elementary for students in grades K-4. Students will participate Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with optional breakfast and lunch provided.

Extended School Year (K-12)

USD 261’s Extended School Year Program provides continued learning opportunities and support services for eligible students in grades K-12. The program will take place May 26–June 25 at Tri-City Day School/Haysville High School from 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Summer School, Credit Recovery & Overtime (9-12)

High school students will have opportunities to recover credits and stay on track for graduation through the district’s Summer School/Credit Recovery Program at Campus High School. The program runs May 26–June 25 from 8:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

SPARK & GearUP

The district’s SPARK & GearUP Program combines academics, enrichment, field trips, and leadership opportunities for students. Hosted at Haysville Middle School, the program runs from June 1–July 23 and includes breakfast, lunch, transportation for eligible students, and weekly field trips on Thursdays.

BREATHE Program (K-5)

The BREATHE Program offers summer support and enrichment opportunities for students in grades K-5 at Freeman Elementary. The program runs June 1–July 23, Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Transportation will be available for qualifying students.

Driver’s Education (10-12)

Students in grades 10-12 can participate in Driver’s Education at Campus High School during two summer sessions:

  • Session 1: May 26–June 19
  • Session 2: June 22–July 17

Summer Food Program

USD 261 will also continue its Summer Food Program, providing breakfast and lunch opportunities for students throughout the summer at Haysville Middle School, with additional meal deliveries to Campus High School and Haysville High School/Tri-City Day School.

These programs reflect USD 261’s continued commitment to supporting student success year-round by providing engaging learning experiences, academic support, and opportunities for connection throughout the summer months.
